This is a handmade dual-waveform synthesizer. It is capable of producing either a sine wave or triangle wave across nine buttons. There is a toggle switch to select either waveform.
It is monophonic and will sound the highest pitch being played. It does not play any sort of tuned "traditional" notes, and in fact the range of frequencies that are laid out on the buttons is controlled by the center knob. To the right of that knob you have an amplitude control. This can give you enough gain to clip the waveform and produce a near square-wave sound. There is also a volume with a built-in power switch.
The nine small tactile buttons were salvaged from broken VHS players.
